Mechanical Trades
The Mechanical Trades Group has ten full time and one contract personnel. The group consists of five licensed Stationary Engineers and Firemen. Three HVAC mechanics, two plumbers and one Waste Water Treatment operator. Their combined experience is approximately 250 years.
The Engineers and Firemen, supervised by David Nadeau, Chief Engineer, operate the high pressure boiler plant. This plant heats all the buildings on the district steam loop around the campus. It is manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the academic year. After the heating season the crew of the power plant services the steam piping system campus-wide and the auxiliary equipment in the various buildings, including the power plant itself.
The HVAC personnel, supervised by Geoffrey Reed, handle heating, cooling and refrigeration problems. These can range from fixing the refrigerators and ventilation systems to fixing bad thermostats and radiators in dormitories.
The Plumbers are supervised by John Beroth. John's crew handles all domestic water and sanitary issues. These types of repairs can be anything from broken sewer lines to clogged toilets and dripping faucets.
The Waste Water Plant operator, Peter Bernard, operates the Waste Water Treatment Plant and is a permanent on-sight employee of Woodard and Curran. This plant takes all of the waste water from the campus and treats it in accordance to State and Federal laws before releasing it back into our environment.
All of the Trades areas are led by David Nadeau. Requests for service may be done by writing up a work order or by calling Kathy Cotter with emergency work orders at x3876.
