Facilities
Laundry Rooms
All residence halls have commercial washers and dryers. Washing machines may not be used for dyeing. The College is not responsible for articles left unattended. If money is lost in the machines, a note should be left on the machine indicating the amount of money lost, the date it was lost, and your name, hall and room number. The Maytag distributor comes in regularly to check the machines and collect the money. At that time, your money will be left with the housekeeper to be returned to you.
Common Areas
Each residence hall has common areas for use by all residents. Requests for private use must be made to the Head Resident. The first priority will always be the common usage. While housekeepers and janitors regularly clean common areas in the residence halls and houses, it is also the responsibility of the residents to keep the hallways, lounges, parlors and study rooms clean and in order.
Kitchen Facilities
Many of the residence halls and most of the houses have kitchen facilities. These are for the use of all residents. While these areas are cleaned regularly by the housekeepers or janitor, students are expected to maintain the cleanliness of these areas and to exercise caution when using heating elements.
Vacuum Cleaners
Each residence hall floor has a vacuum cleaner, which is available through the Student Hall Staff. Remember that this piece of equipment is for use by all. Abuse or failure to return it promptly will result in forfeit of access to the vacuum cleaner.
Vending Machines
Vending machines are located in residence halls for the convenience of the residents. If abuse of a machine occurs, the machine will be removed. If money is lost in the machines, a note should be left on the machine giving your name, the amount of money lost, the date the money was lost and your hall and room number. The vending machine people will leave the money with the housekeeper to be returned to you.
