KLMC Quad (Kilham, Larcom, Metcalf & Chapin)

Larcom and Chapin residence halls are part of the KLMC quad

KLMC quad is located on upper campus and consists of four residential halls–Kilham, Larcom, Metcalf and Chapin. The different halls offer a wide variety of living choices for students.

Kilham is the only all-women’s residence hall on campus. Its residents live in singles, doubles, triples, and quads. Laundry facilities, a kitchen and a lounge with cable television are located in the basement. Larcom is one of two Wellness Halls on campus. Students here desire to live in a substance free environment–they must sign a contract that confirms that they will neither bring, nor allow cigarettes, alcohol, and other drugs into the building. Residents of Larcom live in singles, doubles and triples. Laundry facilities and a kitchen are located in the basement. Metcalf is a traditional residence hall that consists of singles, doubles, triples, and quads. There are laundry facilities and a lounge in the basement as well as a study lounge and kitchen on the first floor. Chapin is the smallest residence hall on campus with 44 students. Students live in doubles and triples. A lounge with cable television is on the first floor with laundry facilities in the basement.

A double located in Larcom.

The Hall Staff works hard to create a safe and engaging community among our residents through programming and community building. Events that are traditionally sponsored by KLMC are:The Smoothie Social, which is an opportunity for residents to hang out over delicious drinks and great music; The Snowball, a dance held on campus where paper snowflakes are sold for $1 to raise money for a local children’s charity; a Latino Heritage Month program, which focuses on celebrating, honoring, and examining the Latino identity; and the White Ribbon Campaign BBQ, which works with the Wheaton College Baseball team to raise awareness and money to combat violence against women and children.

Finally, at the center of the quad is a statue of Hebe, the Goddess of youth. It is not uncommon to walk outside and find Hebe dressed in a ridiculous outfit, an old tradition of KLMC residents.
