KGBW (Keefe, Gebbie, Beard & White House)
Wheaton’s youngest quad is one of its most vibrant and active. KGBW consists of Keefe, Gebbie, Beard, and White House, as well as eleven stand-alone theme houses.

Keefe and Gebbie are comprised of sophomores, juniors, and seniors
who apply to live in three to six person suites focused around a
unifying theme. Each suite has their own bathroom and common areas.
Each building has a kitchen with a microwave, a laundry room, and a
larger common area with a television. Suite-style living has proven to
be particularly popular among sophomores. Lots of programming is done
both on and off campus through community service and other events by
the theme suites of Keefe and Gebbie.

Beard
was designed as a learning community where one to ten person clusters
are created by students who seek ways to connect knowledge acquired in
classes to co-curricular experiences outside the classroom. Clusters
might be focused around particular academic disciplines (e.g. biology
majors involved in an environmental project on or off campus; women's
studies majors working in a battered women's shelter), or projects
might be interdisciplinary in nature (e.g. chemistry and art majors
exploring the properties of color; English and sociology majors
creating a tutor/mentor program for inner city youth). The clusters
have between one and ten members, who are sophomores, juniors, and
seniors. Each of Beard’s floors has single and double rooms, several
smaller bathrooms, collaborative study rooms, a laundry room, and
microwave. Each week, during the academic year, a cluster is
responsible for sharing some aspect of their theme with the wider
community during Beard Time, held on Sunday evenings. Past programs
have included a mini finance workshop from the Financial Literary
Cluster and an Italian feast from the Culinary Cluster.
Beard is a favorite residence hall of upperclassmen on campus that are
looking for a community atmosphere that also guarantees a quiet, clean
living environment. Favorite hall traditions include Beard Breakfast, a
once-a-month morning feast cooked by the resident advisors and the
Halloween Dance, sponsored annually by the quad.
White House is the only designated 24-hour quiet residence
hall on campus. White House has shared bathrooms, a kitchen with a
microwave, and a common area with a television. It is the only house on
campus that has a hall staff member living there.
The eleven Theme Houses
are scattered throughout the Wheaton campus. The Theme Houses range
from five to twelve person houses. Each house is self-governed, but has
a house president to handle things like their budget and house
meetings. The Theme Houses are responsible for programming both on and
off campus.
