Safe Zone Student Ambassadors

Each year, the Safe Zone Committee selects students to be Safe Zone Student Ambassadors who are responsible for:

  • Education: Facilitate 1 training in first year and at least 1 training thereafter before graduation.
  • Creating Awareness: Program 1 LGBTQIA event (educational, social, passive, etc) before graduation.
  • Stay Connected: Meet with fellow Student Ambassadors once every semester until graduation.
  • Being Visible: Attend at least 2 LGBTQIA-based event every academic year until graduation.
  • Being a Role Model: Embrace the qualities of an Ally at all times, such as: non-judgment, open-mindedness, use of inclusive language and behavior, and educate self and others.
  • Advocating: Intentionally take a stance against and interrupt prejudiced/bias behavior.
  • Additional responsibilities may apply.
Applications to become a Safe Zone Student Ambassador are due September 21st.

 

Nominations should be submitted by September 14th.
