Ronald A. Crutcher became the seventh president of Wheaton on July 1, 2004 and was inaugurated on April 16, 2005. He is leading the college community in implementing a strategic plan unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees in October 2006.
A recognized leader in the field of higher education, President Crutcher is co-chairing a national campaign to demonstrate the value of liberal education. The campaign, Liberal Education and America's Promise, is organized by the Association of American Colleges and Universities. President Crutcher also serves on the Board of Directors of the American Council on Education.
