About the Kollett Center
The mission of The Kollett Hall for Collaborative Learning is to broaden the learning opportunities available to students within as well as beyond the classroom and to stimulate productive teaching and learning for faculty and students alike. The Kollett Hall supports faculty as they transform and evaluate the Wheaton Curriculum and develop the pedagogies essential to its success. The Hall also offers resources in support of faculty research and scholarship.
In its new and expanded location adjacent to the Science Center, the Kollett Hall is able to provide collaborative learning space, academic support, programs and resources to students and faculty. Professional and peer tutoring are a major center function. The center offers numerous collaborative workstations, computers, projectors, and whiteboards. The faculty resource center offers print and electronic materials on curriculum transformation and creative pedagogies as well as information on foundations, grants and fellowships to fund research.
The Kollett Hall for Collaborative Learning is named in memory of Fred Kollett, an Information Technology visionary for whom collaborative teaching and learning were second nature. From 1979 to 1997, Fred was a valued Wheaton faculty member, leader, mentor and friend.
