Grants
The NITLE Center for
Educational Technology has provided funding to help us adapt
the process of encoding literary and archival texts developed by
the Text Encoding Initiative Consortium (TEI) to enhance learning
and extend information literacy at small liberal arts colleges. We
plan to develop and test pedagogical models ranging from small class
modules to larger collaborative faculty and student research projects.
Through a series of workshops and seminars, we plan to explore
scholarly and pedagogical issues associated with this mode of inquiry
and to consider the possibility of a collaborative arrangement
through which we and other MANE colleges can design and build a
support structure for TEI applications.
