For three full days at Wheaton College, faculty, librarians, and instructional technologists from six MANE colleges learned about and discussed potential uses of the Text Encoding Initiative's XML tagset. The days were full of hands-on sessions, talks, and lively conversations. Our excellent consultants provided their insights and expertise on the TEI, and several sessions on XML, the TEI tagset, and XSLT were held so participants could gain some experience with the process of encoding before returning to their own institutions to work on their projects.

Workshop participants will continue to discuss their projects electronically through our TEI for Liberal Arts Colleges blog and will gather together again in January to share experiences with using TEI.
