Manuscripts & Special Collections
The Gebbie Archives & Special Collections houses a number of manuscript collections. The majority relate in some way to Wheaton, its graduates, faculty, staff, and Board of Trustee members. An increasing number bear no relation to Wheaton, but provide contemporary glimpses into family and gender issues. Electronic finding aids are being prepared for the collections. Check this page often for the latest additions.
Collection-level descriptions and container lists are available in the Gebbie Archives & Special Collections. These collections are not, as yet, searchable on ELIZA, the Library's online catalog.
Alphabetical list of Manuscript Collections
This list is arranged by the Last Name of the creator
of the collection, or in the case of an organization or institution,
by the first word in the institutional name. Alumnae who graduated
from Wheaton are indicated with a "W****", those who
attended Wheaton, but did not graduate are indicated with a "W****-**,"
"W****-," or "Wx****." This list may be navigated
by using the letters that correspond to the first letter in the
last name of the collection:
