Professor and poet Standing named Fulbright Scholar
English professor and writer-in-residence Sue Standing will travel to France this fall as a Fulbright Scholar to teach and write a series of poems inspired by the work of a renowned medieval sculptor. (more)
Re-discovering the Abenaki
The hidden history of the Abenaki peoples of the northeastern United States and Canada has captivated Wheaton College senior Ashley Smith, who has been researching the historical and contemporary lives and cultures of this Native American group. Six Fulbright winners from Wheaton
The Fulbright Foundation will be sending Wheaton scholars to live, learn and work around the world next year. In addition to Ashley Smith (above), five Wheaton students and grads have won yearlong Fulbright Scholarships. They are: Michael Freese, Meghan Kenny, Esther Jeong, Ashlan Musante and Derron "J.R." Wallace.

Ibric to receive national TV exposure on ESPN Classic
Wheaton indoor and outdoor track standout Merzudin Ibric will be featured on ESPN Classic as part of NCAA On Campus, a monthly, 30-minute program about college sports highlighting NCAA student-athletes. The episode premieres Wednesday, May 21 at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN Classic and will re-air multiple times on ESPNU. NCAA On Campus can also be viewed on the Web by visiting NCAA.org. (more)
