Health Insurance
All students must be covered by a health plan, with comparable coverage as defined by state law (via the Mass Qualifying Student Health Insurance Plan or QSHIP). Initially, all students are charged $1,100.00 per year for The Wheaton College Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan (Student Health Plan). In order to waive enrollment in the Student Health Plan, students must complete the online waiver no later than August 1, 2009 for the Fall Semester and January 1, 2010 for newly enrolled Spring Semester students. Students who do not submit the Medical Insurance Waiver will be assessed the full year premiums of $1,100.00. If you waive the insurance please print out your confirmation number page (or write the confirmation number down) and keep it for your records. This provides documentation of your completion of the waiver form. If a problem arises the confirmation number is the only acceptable proof of waiver completion. Also, please note the following:

- International students with health insurance provided outside of the United States are required to enroll in the Wheaton College Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan. The purpose of this state law is to ensure timely and quality health care while attending college in Massachusetts.
- Students with medical coverage provided through state managed care programs, or HMOs with very limited out of network coverage should carefully review whether their policy provides comparable coverage to the Wheaton Student Health Plan. If not, Massachusetts law requires that the student health insurance be purchased.
OPTIONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE PLAN
Wheaton College offers an optional Accident Insurance Plan for any student who waives the Wheaton College Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan. The purpose of the optional plan is to provide low cost secondary insurance coverage, particularly for varsity athletes (under the accident sections of both policies, varsity athletes are covered 100%, subject to policy limitations).
