Financial Aid and Other Anticipated Credits
Merit Scholarships
Merit scholarships appear on the Wheaton billing statement as anticipated credits until the college confirms student enrollment at the start of the term.
Financial Aid
Financial aid recipients should note that financial aid cannot be credited to your student account until your award has been finalized. Financial aid awards are shown on your billing statement as anticipated credits and are subtracted from your total billed charges.
Please note, sometimes finalizing your award requires further action from you. If further action is required from you, Student Financial Services will contact you. If you are required to complete additional paperwork and do not do so, you will not receive the anticipated award as shown on your financial aid award letter and bill, and will be required to make up for the canceled award amount.
Outside Scholarships and Employer Benefits
Scholarships and benefits paid by outside organizations and employers are not credited to a student account until the payment is received by Wheaton College. Please forward all documentation and payments directly to the Office of Student Financial Services at Wheaton so that we may credit your account appropriately. If the scholarship provider requires a copy of your billing statement, you may print one from insideWheaton, or request one from our office. Self-service access to your billing statement through insideWheaton is a new service beginning with the Fall 2009 semester.
Loans
Federal Perkins and Federal Direct Stafford loans will not appear on your billing statement as anticipated credits until they are accepted through insideWheaton. The instructions for accepting your loans online are here (note: copy/insert link to new pdf).
Federal Direct PLUS (parent) loans and alternative student loans will appear as anticipated credits once we have received certification that the loan is approved and all required documentation has been completed.
