STUDENT TEACHING PREREQUISITES
- Internships and Related Experiences:
75 hours of pre-practicum and internship experience in school settings, including field placements for education courses and a minimum 40-hour internship, planned with the Filene Center during January or May, any year before the Senior year. - Cumulative GPA of 2.67 (with a B- or above in all curriculum courses)
- Passing score on both sections of the Communication and Literacy Tests (of the MTEL, Massachusetts Tests of Educator Licensure) before the fall of senior year.
- Minor Declaration Form on file signifying acceptance into secondary licensure minor
- Good social standing in the Wheaton community prior to any fieldwork placement as determined by the Dean of Students

LICENSURE
To be licensed, you will need to complete all the requirements above, and pass the MTEL test in your subject matter area, taken in the spring of your Senior Year.
