The Parents Fund
As parents, you invest a tremendous amount in your child's education. But you may be surprised to know that tuition does not cover the full cost of providing a Wheaton education. Tuition, room and board constitute about 80 percent of the college's operating budget. Wheaton counts on the generosity of alumnae/i, parents and friends to help make up the difference. That's why annual giving is so important.
The Parents Fund is part of the Wheaton Fund, the college's annual giving program. Contributions to the Parents Fund go to work immediately to benefit your student and every Wheaton student--paying for faculty salaries, books and technology, athletics, student organizations, financial aid and all other aspects of a Wheaton education.
Contributions may range from a few dollars to hundreds of thousands, but each gift is crucial: Every dollar supports the academic programs and campus activities your child depends on.
We invite every family to make an impact on their student's education with an annual gift to the Parents Fund.
For those parents who are able to give at an exceptional level, the college offers two recognition programs.
Parents who contribute $5,000 or more annually to the Parents Fund are considered Parent Ambassadors. These parents are invited to attend special meetings on campus where they can learn more about Wheaton and also offer advice and feedback to senior administrators.
Parent Ambassadors are invited to become actively involved in the life of the college by reaching out to the families of accepted or incoming students and by hosting and attending special events. Some parents also participate in peer-to-peer fund-raising efforts.
The Parent Leadership Circle
This giving circle recognizes parents who choose to support Wheaton with significant gifts to the Parents Fund each year. Wheaton parents who contribute $1,000 or more annually are considered Parent Leaders. Your giving at this level places you within a select circle of donors and inspires your fellow parents to give.
